The National Security Agency (NSA) is an intelligence organization of the United States federal government responsible for global monitoring, collection, and processing of information and data for foreign intelligence and counterintelligence purposes

  • On January 17th, 2017, the NSA's chief FOIA officer wrote in a letter to Gizmodo that "changing security concerns" will prevent the NSA to process, or in this case, even search files regarding NSA contractors and their contracts with the NSA. In the letter, it is implied that the NSA will not release records, information, or any other datum regarding contractors.[1]
